Please encrypt your wallet.
Wallet encryption allows you to secure your wallet, so that you can view transactions and your account balance, but are required to enter your password before spending Worldcoins. This provides protection from wallet-stealing viruses and trojans.
*Note* Once your wallet is encrypted if you lose your password you will lose all of your coins. Never share private keys with anybody.
Please backup your wallet. Seriously don’t forget.
Make it a habit to frequently back up your wallet and save to an external source such as an external hard drive or thumb drive. Go the extra mile and save your backup in a fireproof safe or safety deposit box. Also make sure you have your password in safe keeps too.
Download the Worldcoin Blockchain & Save Some Time…
Windows Instructions:
1. Download Wallet from above link, install, & run. Once open encrypt & backup your wallet. Read sections above about encrypting & backing up.
2. Download zip file from above link.
3. Extract zip file. You will see 2 folders & a file. Blocks, chainstate and a .conf file
4. Close your Worldcoin wallet.
5. Head to your Worldcoin directory here: C:Users>YOURUSERNAME>AppData>Roaming>Worldcoin (if appdata is not visible go to file explorer. Select view & make sure hidden items is checked.) Now remove everything except your wallet.dat file. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR WALLET.DAT FILE!!!
6. Move 2 new folders blocks & chainstate along with the file worldcoin.config from the .zip you just downloaded here: C:Users>YOURUSERNAME>AppData>Roaming>Worldcoin
7. Close out file explorer and run wallet. Be very patient, it could take a few hours to index the first time you run the wallet.
* Please make sure your antivirus / windows defender is allowing Worldcoin QT program through the firewall. If you are not connecting to peers within the first half hour please double check and add most recent config file.
